Still getting them from Calgary as well. The return address is still in Calgary. Hopefully Ontario will be up and running soon.

I got a Canflix rental today with a Brampton return address. Looks like the Ontario warehouse is up and running.

An e-mail I got the other day:

Dear tomester,

We at Canflix continuously strive to improve our service for our customers. In order to serve you better, we have recently opened a Brampton, Ontario shipping location that will now send and receive your Canflix selections. DVDs will be shipped to your door at significantly improved delivery times, as levels of inventory at this new location continue to increase over time.

As a result of this change to our operations, Ontario provincial sales tax laws require us to charge our Ontario customers a provincial sales tax (PST), which currently stands at 8%. No action is required on your part; the additional tax charge will automatically take effect on your next subscription renewal billing date.

We thank you for your continued patronage and look forward to serving you from our new Eastern shipping location.

We at Canflix.com value your suggestions and feedback. Please feel free to contact us at suggestions@canflix.com

Sincerely,
The Folks at Canflix.com
shipping@canflix.com

I wonder if I will see envelopes for Brampton showing up soon.

Got this e-mail as well.

I saw some Brampton return envelopes in mid March, (3 or 4 max) but not one since then. I wonder if the new Brampton warehouse is just starting with New Releases as the rentals I got this month have a release date of 6 months or older.

Let me know when you get one.

But even if you are getting inventory from Calgary, they should be including return envelopes to Brampton, otherwise half the point is lost. They may be having glitches with Brampton, or the Calgary people may be stuffing in the wrong return envelopes. ZIP used to goof on a certain percentage when they started a new warehouse, although with only two locations Canflix should have it easier.

The COO of Canflix responded back to me with my query about the status of the Ontario warehouse.

My operations manager forwarded me your email and felt that I would be better equipped to answer your question.

To be absolutely frank with you, we've had more than a few operational issues getting the Ontario warehouse ramped-up. The problems have ranged from big things like inventory balancing to little things like proper envelopes. Who would have thought that envelopes could cause so many headaches? I won't bother you with the details as they'll read more like excuses than justifications.

I took a peek at your Flixlist and noticed that most of the titles on your list are Television shows. We haven't really started ramping up our Television series inventory in the Brampton warehouse. We did add a few TV titles to the Brampton inventory, but nothing significant as of yet. Our goal was to ramp up the inventory starting with the greatest demand titles - which not surprisingly are the newest releases.

We are working very hard to get the operational issues corrected and hope to be in a much better position early next month.

I do apologize for the delay in getting the warehouse fully operational and if there is any way I can minimize this inconvenience do not hesitate to contact me.

I had a feeling it had to do with something about New Releases. I replied back asking if the return envelope should be Ontario regardless of where it comes from.
